Wild Bloom Art Show
Exhibition Curator, Gallery Projection Mapping, Promotion Design, Featured Artist
Wild Bloom—a celebration of female artists and fabulously foraged materials—opened on May 14, 2025, at Deep Ellum Art Company, a music and art venue in Dallas. Conceived, curated, and produced by Jennifer Kimbrel, the exhibition brought together ten local female artists working with thrifted, found, and repurposed materials to explore creativity through sustainable practices.
The exhibition provided an opportunity to experiment with new materials, techniques, and approaches to immersive art experiences. Kimbrel incorporated projection-mapped lighting to transform the venue and developed her own collection of mixed-media works using laser cutting, resin casting, layered textiles, LED neon, and other fabrication techniques. She also oversaw exhibition design, production, and promotional efforts.
An important part of Wild Bloom was bringing together established and emerging artists, creating opportunities for collaboration, visibility, and professional exhibition experience. The event also supported Genesis Women’s Shelter through a portion of exhibition proceeds and a community clothing drive benefiting the shelter’s thrift store.
The opening exceeded expectations, becoming the venue’s best-attended exhibition in its seven-year history and achieving record sales, with 45 of 65 works purchased during opening weekend. The enthusiastic response has opened conversations about future exhibitions and opportunities to build upon the Wild Bloom concept.
